A whore education
At lunch today a co-worker and I had the following conversation:
Other guy: I can’t believe the media is making such a big deal about the Elliot Spitzer thing. Why should his private life be under scrutiny?
Me: Um … prostitution is illegal.
Other guy: In which states?
Me: Pretty much all of them.
Apparently there are a lot of people who are unsure about the legality of prostitution in the US. I can understand why this is the case - soliciting a whore is not an activity most people ever engage in. But if you don’t tread carefully you can get into an assload of legal trouble, so its best to have some basic hooker knowledge. Luckily for you I happen to know these laws pretty well. Just don’t ask why or how.
Here is my simple flowchart for getting your whore on safely:
1. Are you in Las Vegas? If not, goto 4
2. Look around. Are you in a brothel? If not, goto 4
3. Welcome Governor! END
4. You are seriously fucked.

PS: I feel that it is important to note I have never paid for sex. Not because I didn’t try but because she wouldn’t take my money.
PSS: A quick search on the internet reveals that prostitution is also legal in Rhode Island, but that doesn’t count because Rhode Island isn’t actually a state.
PSSS: Holy shit! Rhode Island IS a real state. When did that happen?
